Capture Higher Ed is proud to introduce one of our newest partners, the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg.
Founded in 1963 in downtown Greensburg, Pa., Pitt-Greensburg serves more than 1,500 full-time and part-time students through 29 majors, 19 minors and numerous pre-professional programs. Its 219-acre campus is nestled in Pennsylvania’s beautiful Laurel Highlands and surrounded by nature trails and the rich history of Westmoreland County.
As a member of the University of Pittsburgh network of schools, Pitt-Greensburg connects the best of big and small school environments: the resources of the University of Pittsburgh — one of the nation’s most prestigious research institutions — mixed with the individualized and immersive experiences of a small liberal arts college.
Every Pitt-Greensburg major offers excellent opportunities for experiential learning that can be difficult to find at a larger school. With an ideal 18:1 student-to-faculty ratio, the classes are small enough for students to know the university’s 81 faculty members. With 40 clubs and student organizations and 13 Honors Societies, Pitt-Greensburg offers a vibrant campus community — a culmination of intellectual, professional, spiritual and character development that happens during college.
Pitt-Greensburg also has 12 men and women’s, NCAA Division-III athletic teams. The Bobcats compete in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC).
Pitt-Greensburg has been recognized in recent years in a variety of categories. The university was named a “Hidden Gem” for women pursuing STEM fields by the higher education planning website, College Raptor. For the past two years, the university earned national recognition as a College of Distinction, which reviews factors like freshman experience, an institution’s general education program and strategic plan, as well as alumni success and satisfaction measures.
In all, Pitt-Greensburg is a dynamic and diverse community of people working to enrich knowledge, build relationships and grow opportunity in Western Pennsylvania and beyond. We are proud to welcome this fine university to the Capture family of partners.
