Capture Named One of Business First’s Fast 50 Companies

Capture Higher Ed has been named one of Louisville Business First’s Fast 50 companies for 2018, the publication announced on Aug. 7. The annual list honors the 50 fastest-growing independent and privately held companies in Greater Louisville.

Capture will find out exactly where it ranks on the list during an awards luncheon on Oct. 25 at the newly renovated Kentucky International Convention Center. Business First also will announce winners in five revenue categories at the luncheon.

Business First’s Fast 50 special publication — which will include rankings, revenue data and profiles of all of the 2018 honorees — comes out on Oct. 26, a day after the luncheon.

With more than 70 employees, Capture is a Louisville-based tech startup that builds and manages high-tech marketing tools and strategies for colleges and universities across the country. The company has experienced significant growth over the past two years.

In spring of 2017, Capture released, Envision, higher education’s first ensemble predictive model for enrollment management. Unlike typical predictive models in the industry, which are built on historical data and not easily iterated upon, Capture’s patent-pending models utilize machine learning and multiple algorithms to continuously look for patterns and make more accurate predictions every time new data becomes available. Envision predictive models are over 98 percent accurate.

More than 20 of the Capture’s client universities are using Envision to build ensemble predictive models for application, enrollment and financial aid. One huge benefit of a highly accurate model is that it helps institutions target communications more effectively to prospective students. They can spend their time and money on the students who are interested in what they have to say and, as a result, get more applicants for the same amount of money.

Also over the past year, the use of Capture’s marketing automation — Capture Behavioral Engagement (CBE) — has been expanded into new higher education markets including graduate student recruitment, online student recruitment and university advancement.

In student recruitment, CBE allows Capture’s university clients to identify stealth prospects on their websites, see individual points of interest and serve them custom, program-specific, one-on-one communication. The technology also alerts university officials to follow up at the most influential time in a student’s decision journey. For university advancement, CBE allows alumni and development offices to find, rank and convert stealth alumni into active members and donors.
