Capture Welcomes the University of Louisville

Louisville-based Capture Higher Ed is proud to introduce one of our newest partners — an institution we know pretty well — the University of Louisville. UofL joins Bellarmine University as our two hometown partners.

Established in 1798 and located in our progressive community of nearly 1 million people, UofL is a state-supported research institution with three campuses and 12 colleges and schools. The university offers personalized learning experiences through its more than 200 degree programs, allowing students the flexibility to explore multiple career paths.

UofL has gone through some remarkable changes. A municipally supported public institution for several decades before joining the state university system in 1970, the university’s profile has transformed dramatically in the 47 years since, evolving from a “commuter school” to an ambitious research institution with a vibrant on-campus life.

Today, with an enrollment of more than 22,500 students and more than 144,000 alumni around the world, it strives to be a premier, nationally recognized metropolitan research university and a key leader in transforming the lives and institutions of its city and state.

Competing in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), the university’s athletics programs have a highly visible national profile and are an enduring source of both school and civic pride. The Cardinals have a storied tradition in men’s basketball, emerging as a dynasty in the 1980s with two NCAA National Championships and four trips to the Final Four over one six-year period. In recent years, UofL has garnered success across all sports, culminating in “The Year of the Cardinal” in 2013, when it became the first university ever to win a BCS Bowl game, place both men’s and women’s basketball teams in the NCAA Final Four and reach the College World Series.

UofL’s mission is to pursue “excellence and inclusiveness in its work to educate and serve its community through: 1) Teaching diverse undergraduate, graduate, and professional students in order to develop engaged citizens, leaders, and scholars; 2) Practicing and applying research, scholarship and creative activity, and 3) Providing engaged service and outreach that improve the quality of life for local and global communities.

“The University is committed to achieving preeminence as a nationally recognized metropolitan research university.”

We are proud to welcome the University of Louisville to the Capture family. Go Cards!
