Capture Welcomes Colorado State University-Pueblo

Meet Colorado State University-Pueblo, one of Capture Higher Ed’s newest partners!

Located on a 275-acre campus (less than two hours south of Denver), CSU-Pueblo has an enrollment of nearly 4,500 and offers more than 50 majors in an ethnically and culturally diverse metro area of more than 120,000 people.

Founded in 1933 as Southern Colorado Junior College, CSU-Pueblo has adapted and evolved over the years to meet the needs of a changing student demographic. It became Colorado State University-Pueblo as recently as July of 2003 to more closely align with its governing body, the Colorado State University System.

The campus continues to evolve with a newly renovated library, a new $16 million general academics building, an enhanced soccer and lacrosse stadium, and a major $30 million renovation and expansion of its Occhiato University Center, which includes a ballroom, modern dining facilities, a new bookstore, all new student lounges and much more.

Some of the things that make Colorado State University-Pueblo unique include a Mass Communications Department and Center for New Media that offers hands-on experiences though an on-campus public television station, a radio station, and online and print publications. The university also offers an undergraduate engineering program that is ranked in the nation’s top 100 by U.S. News and World Report; its Hasan School of Business ranks in the top 15 percent internationally.

In addition, Colorado State University-Pueblo offers a cool Outdoor Pursuits program that introduces students to Colorado’s spectacular natural beauty through rock- and ice-climbing, biking, rafting, kayaking, hiking and, of course, snow skiing.

The CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves compete at the NCAA Division II level through the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Its football team won the NCAA 2014 Division II National Championship just seven years after being founded.

With the motto “Be Legendary,” CSU-Pueblo’s mission stresses its distinctiveness. According to its website: “Colorado State University-Pueblo is committed to excellence, setting the standard for regional comprehensive universities in teaching, research and service by providing leadership and access for its region while maintaining its commitment to diversity.”

Like Colorado State University-Pueblo, Capture strives to “Be Legendary.” We are proud to welcome the ThunderWolves into our family of partners.
