Capture CEO Among ‘Influential Louisvillians Supporting Startups’

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Steve Huey, CEO of Capture Higher Ed, recently ranked 11th on Insider 502’s list of “43 influential Louisvillians supporting startups and our community.”

Insider 502 — a digital directory of local influential people, businesses and nonprofit organizations — is produced by the local news and information website Insider Louisville. Their list of “43 influential Louisvillians” is the first in a three-part series that takes a “closer look at Louisville’s startup ecosystem,” according to the report.

The “influencers” on the list represent those who provide guidance, resources and education to help local entrepreneurs reach their goals.

How was influence measured?

“Using the Insider 502 platform, a team of researchers curates and mines data from publicly available business intelligence resources to identify those who are making a significant mark,” the report says. “Founding a company and getting involved in community endeavors are factors that weigh heavily on an individual’s ranking.”

Other factors included everything from leadership roles to board affiliations to social media presence. In total, the 43 startup influencers have founded 72 businesses or community organizations and represent 141 corporate and community board positions. Their efforts go beyond the startup community — 76 of the board positions represented by the 43 influencers are not directly related to entrepreneurship.

“Louisville has no shortage of these influential leaders,” Insider 502 reports. “And it’s not just about their commitment to startups, these 43 leaders also contribute to our community in other ways.”

Huey, a proven leader in high-tech industries and an expert at integrating new technologies, has spent the last 13 years leading higher education firms. For the last five years, he has led the remarkable growth of Louisville-based Capture, which uses big data and cutting-edge technology and innovation to attract, engage and recruit mission-fit students for its partner colleges and universities.
