Who always wins a bowl game? The admissions team. The University of Toledo lost the Camellia Bowl, 31-28, to Appalachian State University, Dec. 17, after missing a late field goal. But while the Rockets didn’t win on the field, the university scored a victory with exposure to prospective students.
As the nationally televised game in Montgomery, Ala., progressed, more and more people visited pages on UT’s website (www.utoledo.edu).
While you might expect increased activity on athletics-related pages, most visits related to the school’s academics and admissions, peaking as the game came down to the wire.
And the action didn’t end when the game was over. After the game, visits to application pages almost tripled. With CBE, Capture can tell how many students visited those pages as well as who those students are. This “recruitment intelligence” enables more intentional real-time marketing opportunities.
